The prep is taking a lot of my time so I got to start on the later than I had hoped. I did find an image of the inspiration for the layout in my copy of ” The American Heritage Century Collection of Civil War Art” edited by Stephen W. Sears. I believe that the layout ended up this way because of the nature of etching and paper being so expensive back then.
Here is the accused, flanked by soldiers familiar to him, as he is presented by one very cocky First Lieutenant. I am using my favorite pen for drawing which gives me a nice brown color. I prefer this pen because the ink has a warm tone that adds some body to the lines.

I'm an artist working in Colorado. I prefer mediums that allow me be as tonal or as structed as I please. The landscape provides countless joys for me as I attempt to understand its patterns.
In 2009, I graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, MD with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on Drawing. Here, I created works that appeared in the 2008 issue of Drawing Magazine.
While attending Colorado State University, I taught Painting, Figure Painting, and Principles of Design as a Graduate Instructor. I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting in 2014.
Since then, I have worked to be a part of the artist community of Northern Colorado. I was one of the first members of the Gallery 970 Co-op in Loveland. I am a member of the Northern Colorado Artist Community in LaPorte where I am active as an instructor.
